“Too Busy, Didnt Know What Raj Kundra Was Up To”: Shilpa Shetty To Cops – dot newz

Shilpa Shetty also told the police that she was not aware of the controversial apps.

Mumbai:

Actor Shilpa Shetty has been listed as a witness in the Mumbai Police charge sheet against her jailed husband Raj Kundra, who is accused of producing and streaming porn on mobile apps.

According to the charge sheet, Shilpa Shetty had told the police that she was not aware of her husband’s activities.

“I was too busy with work, did not know what Raj Kundra was up to,” said the actor’s statement, which is a part of the 1,400-page charge sheet filed by the Mumbai Police.

Shilpa Shetty also told the police that she was not aware of the controversial apps “Hotshots” or “Bollyfame”, both linked to the porn racket.

After “Hotshots” was removed over porn content from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store, another app, Bollyfame, was launched.

The charge sheet says businessman Raj Kundra, 45, used the premises of Viaan Industries Limited to run the day-to-day operations of the porn racket.

Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 along with several others, including employees; four employees are believed to have turned witnesses against him.

Raj Kundra has argued in court that the content can be classified as “lascivious” but not pornographic and that similar material is available on OTT platforms like Netflix.

Laws against publishing and transmitting “obscene material” are tough in India, though watching pornography in private is legal.

The police allege that a UK-based company was set up by Raj Kundra and his brother and registered in that country so it could evade Indian cyber-laws.

“After abrogation of Article 370, path to development has opened for all,” RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said

Nagpur:

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday alleged that before the abrogation of Article 370, about 80 per cent of funds allocated to Jammu and Kashmir used to land in the pockets of political leaders.

Speaking in an event in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Mr Bhagwat said, “Before the abrogation of Article 370, 80 per cent of what was done for Kashmir valley, used to end up in the pockets of political leaders and not reach people. Now, after the abrogation people of Kashmir valley are experiencing direct access to development and availing of benefits.”

Mr Bhagwat added, “I visited Jammu and Kashmir and saw the current situation. After the abrogation of Article 370, the path to development has opened for all. On the pretext of Article 370, Jammu and Ladakh were discriminated against earlier. That discrimination doesn’t exist anymore.”

In August 2019, the Central government scrapped Article 370 which gave special rights to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the region into two categories- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

J&K Separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s Grandson Sacked From Government Job – dot newz

Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s grandson Anees-Ul-Islam was appointed research officer in 2016

New Delhi:

The grandson of pro-Pakistan Kashmir separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani has been sacked as research officer from a government-owned convention centre in Jammu and Kashmir, sources have said.

The move behind the sacking of Anees-Ul-Islam came after it was found that the separatist who died at 92 last month had “bartered violence for his grandson’s job”, sources said.

Anees-Ul-Islam was appointed research officer in Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre or SKICC under Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department in 2016 when People’s Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti was the Chief Minister.

Just few months before getting the government job, however, Anees-Ul-Islam had gone to Pakistan, sources have said.

“It is learnt that there was pressure from top echelon in the government to appoint Anees and the whole recruitment process was manipulated,” said a person with direct knowledge of the matter, asking not to be identified.

Anees-Ul-Islam also allegedly helped some people in flying drones in and around Srinagar to film protests.

“His appointment was found to be highly irregular… It is suspected that the appointment straightaway to a gazetted grade equivalent position in the government-funded and controlled SKICC was a deal to bring down violence during the Burhan Wani agitation between the then Chief Minister and Geelani,” the source said, referring to the protests after Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani was shot dead by security forces in 2016.

“There was no urgency to fill the post that had been vacant since 2005. But some officers were suddenly in a hurry after Anees returned from Pakistan to look for any vacant position in SKICC. Any assessment by any security agency anywhere in the world under the given circumstances could not have granted security clearance to him for occupying a public position. But he was cleared due to pressure from the top,” the source said.

SKICC is a top convention and conferencing facility of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, which is used for high-level meetings and VVIP conferences.

“Technical input suggests Anees continues to be in touch with three suspects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia,” the source said.

A school teacher, Farooq Ahmad Butt, has also been sacked. He was appointed on contract in 2005 and regularised in 2010. “His brother Mohd Amin Butt is a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” the source said.
